No Doubt About It

I came to a saving knowledge of Christ in a rather different way than most people do. I don't remember many specifics, but there is no doubt about it - I was saved on that day. It happened when I was very young - 5 or 6 years old - when i was still small enough to stand on the window seat and not hit my head on the ceiling. So there I was, standing there - peeking out between the slates of my window shades - and there, rising grandly above the houses at the end of the street, were the beautiful hills separating our town from the next town. Granted, these hills are just little mounds of dirt with dead weeds poka-dotting the slope, but somehow, the view captivated my little mind, and I knew that there had to be a God who would make something so grand practically in my front yard. It was at that moment that I truly believed that there was a God who cared about me and wanted me to be his child.

My life ever since has been a journey of learning even more about God and the beauty of His creation. Every day he teaches me how to live, worship, and impact the world for the glory of His name. I love finding out what He has in store for me each and every day. Life cannot be just "going through the motions." I strive to see the excitement and unusual happenstances of daily life as experiences that will only pass my once and are worth cherishing and enjoying. THere is no doubt about it: life is a grand adventure!

This spring I noticed the hills and exploded in an array of color. These weeds only come once a year, but they make the normally brown hills into bright shades of yellow and blue.

I am amazed at how God can make the dry and bare land come alive with color with just a few drops of merciful rain.

This one daisy grew alone on the side of the curb, struggling to blossom, but it became the most beautiful weed on the campus. Just look at how the jagged edges make the flower even more beautiful and unique.

How often does God do that with our own lives? He gives the rain when we need it... and then lets us grow through the rocky soil because he knows how beautiful the trials will make us... as long as keep trying to grow up toward the SON.

Just like God touched me through the work of his fingertips; he can touch you... if you keep your eyes open.
