My life ever since has been a journey of learning even more about God and the beauty of His creation. Every day he teaches me how to live, worship, and impact the world for the glory of His name. I love finding out what He has in store for me each and every day. Life cannot be just "going through the motions." I strive to see the excitement and unusual happenstances of daily life as experiences that will only pass my once and are worth cherishing and enjoying. THere is no doubt about it: life is a grand adventure!
This spring I noticed the hills and exploded in an array of color. These weeds only come once a year, but they make the normally brown hills into bright shades of yellow and blue.

I am amazed at how God can make the dry and bare land come alive with color with just a few drops of merciful rain.
This one daisy grew alone on the side of the curb, struggling to blossom, but it became the most beautiful weed on the campus. Just look at how the jagged edges make the flower even more beautiful and unique.

How often does God do that with our own lives? He gives the rain when we need it... and then lets us grow through the rocky soil because he knows how beautiful the trials will make us... as long as keep trying to grow up toward the SON.
Just like God touched me through the work of his fingertips; he can touch you... if you keep your eyes open.

I really can't say that I am the type of person who really appreciates (or notices) nature, so it was really interesting for me to read your blog.
It makes me think about how neat it is to have a God that talks to each of us in our own language. He spoke to you through nature, but he speaks to me in different ways.
Idk, it's interesting.
Recognizing all the beauty that God has created here on earth for us is something that many people fail to realize. Adam and Eve were the first to take for granted the environment God bestowed upon them. The beauty that we find in nature from day to day is nothing compared to Eden and definitely nothing compared to Heaven or Jesus. Now that would be worth taking pictures of!
I appreciated reading your testimony Phylicia :) Like you, I was quite young myself when my parents first told me of who Jesus was. I think it's something we have in common, and I like that :) You certainly have an eye for photography, but more importantly, the beauty He surrounds us with if we stop to take notice.
I second that emotion. I love nature, love to be in it and look at it. I think I may be into a more rugged type than you are, but the message gets across. My favorite is when I get to go into the woods on some mountaintop, and when night comes I love to go to a clearing and just watch the stars. So grand and majestic. Or just hiking across the hills and spotting the wildlife. How big is God, He who makes so many things in so many different styles and sizes!
I really loved and enjoyed reading your testimony Phylicia. My testimony was almost the same as yours. The pictures that you incorporated in your blog made your testimony become alive. I also loved the analogy of the flower that grew on the rocky soil, representing the trials God puts us through to make us grow more stronger and beautiful in Him!
I appreciate the fact that you notice the details. Not a lot of people can take a look at a single flower and see God in it; most people are too busy to care. I suppose that's something you and I have in common, noticing the details. It's amazing how much you can grow, learn, and appreciate the Lord through simple moments such as looking at a weed-covered hill. Thanks for sharing. :-)
